“Julie is a lovely teacher. It’s a joy to practice with her. She has such a mindful pace. She encourages and pushes for correct physical alignment which strengthens the body. However, I enjoy more that she manages to calm the mind in true yoga spirit. Her depth of knowledge shines through.”

“I started yoga classes with Julie six months ago. I had been diagnosed with generalised anxiety and panic disorder. I thought I’d give yoga a try but was sceptical ! ….After the first class I said it wasn’t for me, but persisted with it. I can honestly say that yoga has helped me to manage my anxiety and to be able to get on with and enjoy my life. Thank you so much Julie for your classes, which are thought provoking, educational, balanced, varied, challenging, eclectic and at times entertaining ! I would recommend Julie’s classes to anyone who is struggling with anxiety”

“I attended Julie’s pregnancy yoga classes from 16 weeks until I was full term and can’t recommend it enough. Not only do you have the opportunity to work on your body it also quietens the mind. Your body is under a lot of pressure during pregnancy and I found Julie’s classes helped me to relax, eased my muscles, prepared me for birth and helped my mindset. Julie is an excellent teacher!”

“Prior to attending these classes I did not think yoga would be my thing but agreed to go along along with a friend…
It turned out to be THE best decision I made in my pregnancy!
The whole experience allowed me to feel far more relaxed and prepared about my pregnancy journey and labour itself.
Julie is an amazing teacher, really down to earth with a whole wealth of experience.
Getting a chance to meet, ask questions and have the occasional rant candidly with other expecting mums each week was also a huge part of the class that really helped me destress and prepare!
When the day itself came I managed to labour at home for 22 hours and was fully dilated by the time I got to the birthing centre. I honestly can say, without a doubt I could not have done that without the positions and techniques I learnt at the classes.
Thank you Julie – can’t wait for the post natal classes!”

I am so glad myself and my husband attended this workshop with Julie as I feel it really helped me to effectively manage my epic labour of 23 hours and stick to my birth preferences. I was quite keen to not use any more pain relief other than a tens machine, water and gas & air. The workshop taught me different breathing exercises and positions to aid labour during the different stages and also it helped me to understand the different pains in labour. For example, I knew when I was transitioning to the later stages of labour because Julie taught that this would be when the pain would intensify and I would likely feel like I couldn’t go on. But by teaching us that this was also the time to recognise that this was a positive sign that I would soon meet my baby it supports you to get through it. It helps the unmanageable feel manageable. Through Julie’s teaching I managed to pace my pain relief through effectively using my breathing to manage the pain. This was a huge shocker to me as I have always seen myself as having a low threshold for pain. The midwives all commented on how well I laboured and I do think this was as a result of preparing for how myself and my husband would support me through the different stages. I would recommend pregnancy yoga and this birthing workshop to any mummy and daddy to be!
Birth Workshop
I have never been a huge fan of yoga pre-pregnancy as I always felt it was too slow and not meeting my aim of helping me burn as many calories as possible within the hour! I was always a sprint type girl rather than a marathon. However, during pregnancy, I realised that I wanted to slow down in order to really nurture myself, my mind and my body during pregnancy. I wanted to savour the moment of being pregnant and also try to have my baby experience relaxed vibes rather than running round a million miles an hour vibes. I feel like having this one hour a week to tell Julie and other mum’s about your wins and struggles during pregnancy and an hour to be mindful with your experience of pregnancy in that moment did wonders for my mental wellbeing. I think it also helped me get through my 23 hour labour with minimal pain relief! As a result of my experiences with Julie in this yoga class I understand the benefits of being in the moment and slowing down. This has allowed me to enjoy my son in a way I doubt I would have if yoga had not become part of my life as I always would have been thinking of what I needed to do rather than just being. I also try and engage in one yoga class per week now in order to allow myself an hour to be in the moment with myself in whatever poses, stretch or relaxation I am in. Thank you Julie, you have I feel with your classes helped me to be the relaxed mother I always wanted to be…well most of the time 😉
Pregnancy Yoga Review
“I honestly think your yoga classes and the birthing workshop are a huge reason why I managed labour effectively and also why I can relax into motherhood despite the struggles that come with it. You have introduced me to yoga in a way no-one else has in the past and I like to think being mindful and yoga will always be part of my life in some way. I love your relaxed and informative teachings. You made me feel so comfortable to share my experiences in classes and do whatever my body could and would do that day, no judgement.”
